A Fragrant Summer!

Hey guys,

I hope you have been doing fantastic. Spring is still here and summer is knocking and lately I have been really into scents. I am loving me some good layer of scents and I am feeling amazing with these. I hope you guys will like this post and if you try any of these items or ideas I hope it makes you feel amazing too.

I recently have noticed that using some good smelling body products makes my shower time really a happy time. I lather up and layer up all these products, scrub my body and spray my favorite perfumes on and I am really a happy person and the shower time has become one of the “Feel Good” moments for me. And I will mention this “Feel Good” phrase again in this post.
As you guys know I talk about Superdrug in my posts a lot. There are many Drugstores near to where I live but Superdrug has been my most favorite. I don’t know why but I always tend to go there rather than any other stores for my beauty, hair and makeup items. And they always have some amazing deals going on too. So recently I have been there. May be we all know about Radox Bath and Shower products. They are actually really good. I got the “Radox Moisture Boost Shower Cream”. It says it contains a blend of Chamomile and Jojoba oil and it is a “Feel Good” fragrance and when they say Feel Good they mean it guys. As soon as I got this on my loofah, I smiled. It smells amazing and it screams spring. If you are like me and you like floral scents you will definitely like it. I liked it so much. Even after hours I took my shower I could smell it. First I put some on my loofah and clean my body and then I get some on my bath brush and gently exfoliate my body.

Every other day I scrub my body using the “Arora Pomegranate Passion” body scrub. It is available in Superdrug and I am not sure if it is their own brand. This scrub is really sugary and it smells amazing. I have used the same body butter during the winter time and that was the best body butter I have used so far. This scrub really cleanses off all the dead cells and leaves my skin silky smooth. It also leaves me with a nice fruity scent.

The nest thing I use is my body butter which is Superdrug’s “Cherry and Macadamia nuts” body butter. This also smells very fruity and it is sunk into my skin very easily. I always prefer body butter to lotions because I think they are more luxurious and hydrating.
Then I use the “Dove go fresh 48h Deodorant in the Pomegranate and lemon verbena scent”. We all know how good the Dove deodorants are but I personally find this scent very girly and fresh.

Then for perfume I have been using two. One for daytime and another for night time. For day time I have been using “Si Fleuri by Lomani”. This is a VERY floral scent and it smells fresh too. It says it is “Extraordinary flowered notes of rose, jasmine, tuberose, lily of the valley and ylang-ylang come together to reveal a perfume that sparkles with fresh feminity. Spicy overtones from pepper blend into woody, musky notes, extending the unforgettable sensual silage.” In my opinion this is a perfect spring/ summer time perfume.

For night time I tend to use a musky and romantic scent. At this moment I am really liking “Britney Spears Curious”. I think it should be in everyone’s collection. It is very very girly, musky, feminine and … everything good. I cannot explain it enough. Let’s go for what it describes about itself. It says “This exhilarating white floral fragrance celebrates Britney's birthplace with Louisiana magnolia, and is wrapped in the sensuality of vanilla-infused musk. A Curious perfume, for the inquisitive at heart.”

Well guys this is my routine to stay nice and fragrant in the summer time. I hope you like this post and find it inspiring and helpful. I will include some pictures of these products and all these are easily available in the drugstores and also on online shopping places like ebay/ amazon.

I hope you guys like this post. And I will write to you guys soon. Till then,

Take Care…

Mani Monday 5 | Fun Springtime Manicure

Hey Guys,

Today's Mani Monday is inspired by some Easter Eggs that I saw in a library. It is not exactly for Easter as the colours are a bit brighter than pastel but this manicure is definitely for Spring.

There is something I must say here. It was my first attempt to hand paint a Mani and trust me guys I am terrible. I was lucky because easter eggs are supposed to be not so perfect and they must look like they are hand painted. So, I really hope you all are going to forgive me on this. :-S

Well to do this Manicure I used 6 different shades and you can choose your shades. But I used
1. Green on my thumb
2. Yellow on  my index finger
3. A sheer nude polish on my middle finger
4. Coral on my ring finger
5. Purple on my Pinkie

Then I grabbed a Toothpick and just followed my imaginations . I made some chevron and polka dot designs with different colours. You can make your own designs.

I hope you guys liked this Manicure and I hope this inspires you to do your own springtime Manicure. If you try this Mani cure please share some pics with me on any of the social media links given below. I hope you guys liked this Mani cure and I will write to you guys soon.

Till then,

Take care ...

Nail polish shades:

1. Green, Blue and Purple are from Primark
2. Nude one is NYC’s “Oh Soho Sweet” which is no.170
3. Yellow one is NYC’s Lexington Yellow in number 294
4. Coral one is MUA cosmetics' Cright coral.

Mani Monday 4

Hi! My beautiful friends,

Here comes another Mani Monday. I do all the at home simple manicures. As the minty green and glitter nail polishes are very In this season, I decided to go for Green and just for the record.... Green is one of my favorite colours :-D

Well, guys, for this manicure I used 2 nail polishes and they both are from one of the Primark nail polish sets. The Primark nail polish sets are really cheap. They are just £2.00 for the set of four(each 6ml)if you live in the UK. and if you live anywhere else then … Don’t Worry! You can easily find them on "ebay" or "Amazon". It could be a little bit more expensive but you can find Primark nail polishes on these websites. I know they are not the best qualities but they are not the worst either. In fact some of them are really good. Well, sometimes, among all the four one or two might come out as a disappointment but still for students or people who like to save money (like me) can easily try them and make them work. When I was wearing this Mani one of my friends thought the mint green polish was an Essie nail polish.

I will do some Mani with the other nail polishes from the same set and review for you guys. So far, I tried the Green, I wore it for a week and I think it was pretty good. The chipping started on the fifth day for me and I do cook and do lots of kitchen stuff every day. So, I think this polish in particular was really good quality. May be you guys can give it a try and let me know how it worked for you and I hope you guys like that too.

The way I did the manicure:

1. I painted my nails with two coats of the Green nail polish and I waited until each coat was completely dry.
2. I applied one coat of the glitter polish to all my nails.
3. Then I applied another coat of the glitter polish half way through all my nails except the ring finger. I fully covered my ring finger with another coat of the glitter polish.
4. Then I applied the final coat of the glitter polish to the tip of all my fingers but the ring finger. I applied another coat to fully cover my ring finger.
This is how I easily achieved an easy ombre glittery effect to my other fingers and by fully glitterising( I  totally made up that word :-P ) my ring finger I made look a little bit different from the other fingers.
I hope the picture given below describes all the steps a bit more clearly.

If you like this manicure please let me know and leave me some comments about it. I eagerly wait for your comments.

My Weekly Hair Care Routine

Hey guys,

Today’s post is about my weekly hair care routine. All I do is I combine different type of oils and make my own hot oil treatment for my hair. Sometimes if I am being a very good girl :-D I do this 2-3 times a week but I try my best to do this at least once in a week. This hot oil treatment works wonder for me. I think this is amazing. It reduced hair loss and absolutely helped my hair growth. I would also like to mention that, I am not any hair expert. This treatment worked for me and I hope it works for other people too. This is pretty simple and easy to make if you have all the ingredients. So, let’s jump into it.

For this you will need,

1.     Coconut oil: I am currently using one from superdrug. It is not an amazing coconut oil for me but still does the job. You can use any of your choice.
2.    Castor oil: I am currently using one from a brand called KTC. It definitely works for me and I literally saw new hair growing which adds more volume.
3.    Red hair oil (optional): Red hair oil is made from some Indian herbs which hydrate your hair, hair grows longer and it also prevents hair loss. I am using one from KTC. The red hair oil can be easily found in your local Indian shop. If you can’t find one or if there is no Indian shop near to you, you can check on ebay or other online shops.
4.    Vitamin e capsules for hair: There little vitamin E capsules for hair which definitely nourishes your hair and conditions them. I really love those baby capsules. I think they look so cute. (OMG! I think that was so silly).

What I do is I take a bowl and I put, 1 Tb spoon Coconut oil, 1 Tb spoon Castor oil and 1 Tb spool Red hair oil and heat them up in the microwave oven for about 30 seconds or until the coconut oil melts. Then I add the vitamin E capsules in this mixture. Remember, it is very important that you add the vitamin E capsule after heating up the mixture of other oils because vitamin loses its quality if it is heated up.

After I mix the vitamin E capsule I massage this oil to my scalp and also in my hair. I concentrate mostly to my scalp and the end of my hair. I do not use any hot towel or turban. It does not work for me and it gives me split ends somehow which is really annoying. So I  just wait for at least 30 minutes then I go shampoo my hair as usual.
Every time I do this treatment, my hair feels so soft, smooth and silky and I definitely have very good hair day for at least 3 days in a row after I do this treatment.
I hope you guys liked this post. If you give it a try then please let me know how you felt about it.

That is it for today guys. I hope you liked this post. For an amazing hair mask please click here:

A Runway Eye Make up!

Hi Guys,
Hope you all are doing fine. For today’s post I have done an eye shadow tutorial which is inspired by one of the models in Jason Wu’s show. The eye makeup I did is just inspired by the model. I do not think I look like the model. I personally think that eye makeup was very wearable and this tutorial is just inspired by that makeup look.
This tutorial is very easy to do and it can be achieved only in six steps. So let’s begin.

1.     After priming your eyelid with your favorite primer (mine is from Essence Cosmetics). Then apply a shimmery Gold eye shadow on your lid. Remember not to put this shadow on the crease. To get the exact look, just place the eye shadow on your lid with a flat eye shadow brush (mine is by Ecotools). Do not use sweeping motion.
2.    Then using a black eyeliner draw the shape of your eyelid around the gold shadoe you just placed on your lid.
3.    Blend this black outline using another flat eye shadow brush so that the black line is not as harsh. But be careful in this step and make sure you do not blend it with the gold eye shadow. Just make sure that the outline is a bit smudged.
4.    Then using another flat eye shadow brush, place any gold glitter eye shadow (mine is from Primark Glitter Eye shadow Pallete) on top of the gold eye shadow. Don’t be afraid to apply a generous amount of the glitter shadow as this look is supposed to be glittery.
5.    Line you water line and tight line using your favorite kohl pencil/ gel liner or any eyeliner you prefer. Also apply some black liner very close to your lash line.
6.    Apply your favorite mascara (I did not use any for this look| To be honest, I forgot to apply Mascara, how weird is that! :-S).
And we’re done. Isn’t that easy beauties? This is the pic of the original model which inspired me to do this make up.

My Skin Pampering Routine

Hello Beauties,

Every now and then we need to pamper our skin and for me it is every week! I have a weekly routine which really helps me to have less skin problems and I feel like my skin is healthy and nourished after having this treatment. This is the reason why I want to share this routine with you guys hoping that it might help some of you too. So, let’s get into it!

My Routine is as given below.

Exfoliating: We all know how important exfoliating is for our skin. Exfoliating helps to get rid of all those dead cells, dirt and gunk that build up on our skin and leaves it smooth and radiant.

I love using ST. Ives apricot scrub. It has different types to choose from. Right now I am using the Fresh Skin one. It says it can be used 3 to 4 times a week. I  personally use it four times and mostly at night.

I use it on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Cleaning is Hot!!!! : This is an amazing mask from Superdrug’s own line. This mask is from their Naturally Radiant line and is called Brightening Renewal Face Mask. It contains Kiwi and Mulberry extracts and honestly guys, I think I can feel these two things on my skin with this mask on. It may sound strange but it is true. It needs a hot cloth treatment. Which means, you apply this mask on your face, you then wait for 10 minutes then you damp your face cloth in warm water then wipe the mask away. This can be applied to both face and neck. It says it should be used weekly.

I use it every Saturday before bed.

Peel it off!
Well it may sound awful but it is good for our skin to use some peel off mask. It helps to get rid of all those black heads and dirt on our skin. Currently I am using the Montagne Jeunesse Tropical Peel of mask. This came in a tube and I bought it from my local Wilkinson. You can easily find it in the other super markets and on ebay as well.
All you need to do is apply this mask and let it dry. Once it is dry you need to peel this off from the chin and go upwards. The tube does not say how many times in a week one should use it. I personally use it 2 times a week.
I use it on Tuesday and Thursday.

Sunday Special!
As Sunday is the fun day, I try to do something special for my skin. I recently visited Bangladesh and they have a supermarket which runs their own line like Tesco. This market is quiet big in there and they always sell organic things and they give 100% guarantee on everything that the products are made from natural ingredients and they are chemical free. So, I bought their Milk + Saffron Mask which they named as a miracle mask and guys, does it do any miracle!
This mask is so hydrating and nice that I don’t have enough words to say how good this product is. It has made my skin so much better and I really regret that I should have bought at least 5 tubes of it because this thing is not available in the UK. I am thinking about making a substitute for this and if I find the recipe I will definitely share with you guys.
I use this mask on every Sunday.
To make it a bit easier please look at the chart below

Day
Treatment(s)
Monday
Exfoliate
Tuesday
Peel off Mask
Wednesday

That is it for my weekly skin pampering routine guys. This routine helped me keeping my skin healthy and I hope it works for you too if you try this.

Spring/Summer 2014| Fashion Wish list| OOTD 4

Hey guys,

Today’s post is another Spring/Summer appropriate idea and this is one of my favorites. I really hope these OOTD posts will help and inspire you guys while choosing your own OOTD.

This outfit is very wearable whether you are going out with your friends or shopping or in a date. It is comfortable, bright and girly at the same time.

So let’s get started.

1.     The first item is a floral Shirt/ blouse. You can use one from any brand that fits you well. I think a cream or beige shirt or blouse will work just as fine as the floral shirt.
2.    The second item is the main part of this outfit and it is a mint green skinny jeans/ jeggings. This item brings all the brightness and color to the outfit and makes it interesting.
3.    Pair it with some nude pumps. Nude pumps matches with any outfit and they definitely make your legs look longer.
4.    A blush pink shoulder bag will totally dress up this outfit. I personally love the one shown in the picture because of its metallic detailing.
5.    Number 5 is a pair of mint green sunglasses. I think these mint green sunglasses are like lemonade in a hot summer for this outfit. It is a cray example but you guy know what I mean… :-D
6.    The last but not least item  is/ are some dainty rings. You can also add some midi/nuckle rings to pair with them. These rings will make this outfit gorgeous but it won’t be too much.

I hope you guys liked this idea. If you try any of these items please share a picture with me.

Quick Tip 3

Mixing and Matching makeup and nail polish with the outfit can be frustrating when we are in hurry. To fix this problem I have this quick tip today. I do this for myself and I also suggest everyone to do so when they are in hurry but still want to look put together.  There are times when we are in hurry and we have no time to find the perfect pallet for a gorgeous make up and the nail polish that goes with your outfit. What works for me is, I always have a nude and natural coloured eyeshadow pallet and a nude nail polish. Honestly guys, whatever you are wearing, a natural eye makeup and nude nail polish will go perfectly with your outfit.
I hope next time when you are in a hurry, this tip will save you some time and
I also hope that you guys enjoyed this quick tip.

Mani Monday 3

Hey guys,
Couple of days ago I posted my nail polish picks for Spring/ Summer 2014 straight from the runway. You can check that post by clicking here: http://beautybarbie7.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/top-10-nail-polish-picks-for.html

In that post, as I said that I will find some dupes for these very pricy nail polishes. I know in some cases the quality of the high end nail polished might be much better but still… let’s face it… not everyone can spend over £100 to have this year’s hot collection. I have found some of the dupes and I am still looking for the others which I did not find.

Instead of just posting the name of the drugstore and cheaper options for those nail polishes, I thought I will do the Mani Mondays with those dupes and talk through it.

The first dupe is for the Essie’s Au Natural which is nude and kind of a sheer pink which was very popular in the runway this year. As dupe for this one I have NYC’s “Oh Soho Sweet” which is no.170. This is also a nude/ sheer pink polish. The formula is fairly creamy and it claims that one manicure from this nail polish would last up to 10 days.

About the colour I can say that, I like the colour. I could simply go out with only one coat which gives a beautiful sheer pink effect. If I apply another coat it gives a nice natural nude finish.

I didn’t try this nail polish before. This time was my first manicure with this polish. So, I don’t really know that if it will last up to 10 days or not. It has been two days since I have painted my nails with and so far so good, I did not notice any chipping. And for the record, I work in my kitchen everyday and I cook almost every day.
Price wise this nail polish was good as well. It was just £2.49 for the 9.7ml bottle.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post. For more Mani Mondays please click on the links below:
