MUA Haul:

Hi everyone!

Hope you all are doing well. I have been really busy with my work stuff so I could not show enough love to my blog. But I have done huge make up shopping in past few days in drugstore/ high street whatever you want to call it.

I have decided to post the hauls of each brand at a time. I live in the UK and for my drugstore shopping I always prefer Superdrug. I like their interiors, collection, offers, price and I even like their cute pink shopping bag J

I have gone their couple of times and bought a few MUA stuff. MUA stands for Make Up Academy, it is a UK brand. In my opinion MUA products are really good quality and still very affordable.

Lip Products:

I will start with the lip products I have bought as I bought quite a few. First of all I love their lipstick so much. The pigmentation is really good, they last longer and also they don’t make my lips dry, which is very important for me.
I bought four from their regular collection and two from their matte collection. The regular ones have black packaging and the matte have white.
I am listing them below:

Regular Collection/ Black Packaging:

1.     The first one is Shade 11, it does not have any name. It s a darker nude colour with peach undertone to it.
2.    Number 2 is Shade 16 and it is called Nectar. It is a bright coral colour and I think it will be great for spring and summer.
3.    The third one is Shade 3 and again it does not have any name. It is a very nice pink.
4.    Fourth one is Shade 2. I love this colour for everyday make up look and it is a bit hard to describe the colour. Ermmm... i would say it is in between pink and purple <3 <3

Matte Collection/ White Packaging:
I bought only two of the matte ones and planning to buy more. The shades I have got are:
1.     The shade is called Lilac Belle. It is a nice purple colour and I think this colour would be good all year around.
2.    The second one is a bright peachy coral matte. The shade is called peachy keen.

These are all the lipsticks I bought. I also got three of their MUA Luxe Velvet Lip

Lacquers:
They give a nice velvety matte finish.
The shades I have got are:
1.     Halycon: One of the nudes.
2.    Atomic: It is a bright orange and my favourite.
3.    Reckless: Dark red.

One think I would like to warn about these lip lacquers is they are highly pigmented and a little bit goes a long way. I really love their quality and thinking about buying more.

That is all for the lip products.

Eye products:
1.     Bought a Mono shadow in the colour Golden, this is very self explanatory because it is a plain golden eyeshadow. The pigmentation is quite good. The texture is cream to powder and it can be used wet or dry.

2.    I also bought one of their eyeshadow trio and its called Legendary. I did not put it to test yet. These are baked shadow and I will write more about it in future.

3.    I bought one of their pallets called Winter Forest Matte Pallet. I love all the shades in this pallet they swatched beautifully and it is good for everyday and dramatic look. I also think this pallet will also be great for spring/summer. They also had a shimmery version of it which was also very good but as I have lots of shimmery shadows I wanted to buy matte this time.

Face Product:
I am not a huge face make up person. I only wear foundation when I have to go to a party or to any occasion. One of the main reasons is I am too lazy to take it off later, so I am not really bothered about wearing lots of face product. But still for collection and also because I loved the colours I bought one of their blushes which is called Bon Bon. This is nice peach colour and I think it will work on all different skin tones. The bronzer is in Shade 1. It is a nice sheen to it but I like the colour and I may also use it as an eyeshadow.

That is it for my MUA haul. I hope you guys like this post. If you want to buy any of these products and if you live in the UK you can find them online and in your local Superdrug.MUA also does international shipping so don’t worry my international friends. I will post soon. Till then,

DIY Milk and Saffron Mask:

Hello my beautiful friends. Hope you all are doing fine. Today I will write about a very interesting DIY face mask which worked wonder for my skin specially in this time of the year when its cold and skin gets really dry and sensitive.

If you guys have read my skin pampering routine which I posted a long time ago. Click here to read that post :

I hope you guys will really like that post as it will give you a routine for your everyday skincare. In that post I mentioned a milk and saffron mask which I bought and loved so much. But I ran out of it and it wasn’t available in the UK or online. So, I decided to make my own. I am really happy with the result.
To make this mask, you will need:

1.    4 tsp dry powder milk: Milk is a great moisturizer  but if you are allergic please seek doctors advice.

2.  1 tsp plain flour: Plain flour is a great cleanser.

3.  ½ tsp saffron: Saffron is a magic ingredient for many things. It gives your skin a natural glow. In South Asian countries ladies mix saffron with milk and drink it to beautify themselves from inside out.

4.  Rose water to make a paste of all these products(you can also use normal water). Rose water is also very good for your skin. I also use it as a toner after using this mask.

Procedure:

Get 4 tsp dry powder milk, 1 tsp plain flour and ½ tsp saffron and mix very well. I mixed them in a grinder to get a very fine and evenly distributed mask. Then you guys know the drill. I made a paste of this mixture with rose water. Applied to my face and left for 10 minutes. Then washed it off with warm water.

You can also keep the mixture of the powdered products in a dry sealed container for about a week. For best results keep it in a cool, dry place and away from direct sunlight.

I hope you guys like this post. If you try this out at home, please let me know is you liked it. Your comments make me really really happy and I eagerly wait for them.

I wish you guys a lovely weekend. I will write again tomorrow. Till then

Take care and Be Barbie ;)

A Fragrant Summer!

Hey guys,

I hope you have been doing fantastic. Spring is still here and summer is knocking and lately I have been really into scents. I am loving me some good layer of scents and I am feeling amazing with these. I hope you guys will like this post and if you try any of these items or ideas I hope it makes you feel amazing too.

I recently have noticed that using some good smelling body products makes my shower time really a happy time. I lather up and layer up all these products, scrub my body and spray my favorite perfumes on and I am really a happy person and the shower time has become one of the “Feel Good” moments for me. And I will mention this “Feel Good” phrase again in this post.
As you guys know I talk about Superdrug in my posts a lot. There are many Drugstores near to where I live but Superdrug has been my most favorite. I don’t know why but I always tend to go there rather than any other stores for my beauty, hair and makeup items. And they always have some amazing deals going on too. So recently I have been there. May be we all know about Radox Bath and Shower products. They are actually really good. I got the “Radox Moisture Boost Shower Cream”. It says it contains a blend of Chamomile and Jojoba oil and it is a “Feel Good” fragrance and when they say Feel Good they mean it guys. As soon as I got this on my loofah, I smiled. It smells amazing and it screams spring. If you are like me and you like floral scents you will definitely like it. I liked it so much. Even after hours I took my shower I could smell it. First I put some on my loofah and clean my body and then I get some on my bath brush and gently exfoliate my body.

Every other day I scrub my body using the “Arora Pomegranate Passion” body scrub. It is available in Superdrug and I am not sure if it is their own brand. This scrub is really sugary and it smells amazing. I have used the same body butter during the winter time and that was the best body butter I have used so far. This scrub really cleanses off all the dead cells and leaves my skin silky smooth. It also leaves me with a nice fruity scent.

The nest thing I use is my body butter which is Superdrug’s “Cherry and Macadamia nuts” body butter. This also smells very fruity and it is sunk into my skin very easily. I always prefer body butter to lotions because I think they are more luxurious and hydrating.
Then I use the “Dove go fresh 48h Deodorant in the Pomegranate and lemon verbena scent”. We all know how good the Dove deodorants are but I personally find this scent very girly and fresh.

Then for perfume I have been using two. One for daytime and another for night time. For day time I have been using “Si Fleuri by Lomani”. This is a VERY floral scent and it smells fresh too. It says it is “Extraordinary flowered notes of rose, jasmine, tuberose, lily of the valley and ylang-ylang come together to reveal a perfume that sparkles with fresh feminity. Spicy overtones from pepper blend into woody, musky notes, extending the unforgettable sensual silage.” In my opinion this is a perfect spring/ summer time perfume.

For night time I tend to use a musky and romantic scent. At this moment I am really liking “Britney Spears Curious”. I think it should be in everyone’s collection. It is very very girly, musky, feminine and … everything good. I cannot explain it enough. Let’s go for what it describes about itself. It says “This exhilarating white floral fragrance celebrates Britney's birthplace with Louisiana magnolia, and is wrapped in the sensuality of vanilla-infused musk. A Curious perfume, for the inquisitive at heart.”

Well guys this is my routine to stay nice and fragrant in the summer time. I hope you like this post and find it inspiring and helpful. I will include some pictures of these products and all these are easily available in the drugstores and also on online shopping places like ebay/ amazon.

I hope you guys like this post. And I will write to you guys soon. Till then,

Take Care…

Mani Monday 5 | Fun Springtime Manicure

Hey Guys,

Today's Mani Monday is inspired by some Easter Eggs that I saw in a library. It is not exactly for Easter as the colours are a bit brighter than pastel but this manicure is definitely for Spring.

There is something I must say here. It was my first attempt to hand paint a Mani and trust me guys I am terrible. I was lucky because easter eggs are supposed to be not so perfect and they must look like they are hand painted. So, I really hope you all are going to forgive me on this. :-S

Well to do this Manicure I used 6 different shades and you can choose your shades. But I used
1. Green on my thumb
2. Yellow on  my index finger
3. A sheer nude polish on my middle finger
4. Coral on my ring finger
5. Purple on my Pinkie

Then I grabbed a Toothpick and just followed my imaginations . I made some chevron and polka dot designs with different colours. You can make your own designs.

I hope you guys liked this Manicure and I hope this inspires you to do your own springtime Manicure. If you try this Mani cure please share some pics with me on any of the social media links given below. I hope you guys liked this Mani cure and I will write to you guys soon.

Till then,

Take care ...

Nail polish shades:

1. Green, Blue and Purple are from Primark
2. Nude one is NYC’s “Oh Soho Sweet” which is no.170
3. Yellow one is NYC’s Lexington Yellow in number 294
4. Coral one is MUA cosmetics' Cright coral.

Mani Monday 4

Hi! My beautiful friends,

Here comes another Mani Monday. I do all the at home simple manicures. As the minty green and glitter nail polishes are very In this season, I decided to go for Green and just for the record.... Green is one of my favorite colours :-D

Well, guys, for this manicure I used 2 nail polishes and they both are from one of the Primark nail polish sets. The Primark nail polish sets are really cheap. They are just £2.00 for the set of four(each 6ml)if you live in the UK. and if you live anywhere else then … Don’t Worry! You can easily find them on "ebay" or "Amazon". It could be a little bit more expensive but you can find Primark nail polishes on these websites. I know they are not the best qualities but they are not the worst either. In fact some of them are really good. Well, sometimes, among all the four one or two might come out as a disappointment but still for students or people who like to save money (like me) can easily try them and make them work. When I was wearing this Mani one of my friends thought the mint green polish was an Essie nail polish.

I will do some Mani with the other nail polishes from the same set and review for you guys. So far, I tried the Green, I wore it for a week and I think it was pretty good. The chipping started on the fifth day for me and I do cook and do lots of kitchen stuff every day. So, I think this polish in particular was really good quality. May be you guys can give it a try and let me know how it worked for you and I hope you guys like that too.

The way I did the manicure:

1. I painted my nails with two coats of the Green nail polish and I waited until each coat was completely dry.
2. I applied one coat of the glitter polish to all my nails.
3. Then I applied another coat of the glitter polish half way through all my nails except the ring finger. I fully covered my ring finger with another coat of the glitter polish.
4. Then I applied the final coat of the glitter polish to the tip of all my fingers but the ring finger. I applied another coat to fully cover my ring finger.
This is how I easily achieved an easy ombre glittery effect to my other fingers and by fully glitterising( I  totally made up that word :-P ) my ring finger I made look a little bit different from the other fingers.
I hope the picture given below describes all the steps a bit more clearly.

If you like this manicure please let me know and leave me some comments about it. I eagerly wait for your comments.
